WHAT IS REQUIRED?
To register for the conference any student, coach, or parent must be a member of HBCUADD. Membership fees are waived for Collegiate All-Stars, HBCU Next All-Stars, and First Look Cohort participants. All other students, and coaches must have a valid membership to register.
WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF BEING A MEMBER?
Members get access to our annual conference held in conjuction with the HBCU National Band Directors Consortium, exclusive networking events as well as specialized content. Members also get access to special programs and events with our strategic partners with discounted or reduced rates.
HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS
High school auxiliary is the pipeline to the next generation of HBCU dancers, color guard, and baton! With knowing that significance--HBCUADD formed the "HBCU Next" Program! This program provides an all comprehensive experience tailored to the growth, development, and exposure of high school auxiliary students!
HBCU NEXT
HBCU Next is our high school program open to any student grades 9-12. Students will participate in technique training, style classes, workshops and seminars facilitated by current and alumni HBCU leaders, as well as exposure and networking with their desired teams and coaches at the collegiate level!
HBCU NEXT ALL-STARS
HBCU Next All-Stars are nominated by their respective coaches. HBCU Next All-Stars unlike general HBCU Next students, get a more intimate experience as well as more in-depth training and mentoring. Selected students must submit an audition video to be selected for the HBCU Next All-Star Performance Team which performs at our conference showcase!
FIRST LOOK COHORT PROGRAM
We all know how expensive it can be to audition for an HBCU team, whether it is getting transportation to audition, or simply just not having your skills tuned up before you leap into an audition. To help aide in those areas, HBCUADD developed the "First Look" Cohort Program for graduating high school seniors or current college students!
WHAT IS THE COHORT?
The "First Look" Cohort is a three-day intensive program specifically designed to prepare high school seniors or current college students not on a team for an HBCU audition. Interview prep, technique critique, social media training, as well as professional headshots are all apart of the process.
WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THE COHORT?
At the end of the program, students will have the opportunity to audition on the spot for our over 25+ coaches and teams who will be present. Students can either make their desired teams on the spot or they can also obtain round waivers to skip in person or virtual early rounds of specific teams tryout process.
COLLEGIATE PROGRAMS
Collegiate auxiliary is the bloodline of who we serve and what we do! It is our goal to not only grow and develop our HBCU students for any career path post graduation--but it is also our goal to shine light on the hard work and dedication of these young men and women; as well as show recognition from their coaches and peers on their accomplishments!
HBCUADD
College students whether coming on their own, with their team, or in conjunction with their band program are open to sign up for general registration for the HBCUADD Conference! Students are eligible to take all classes, workshops, and seminars not specified for coaches only.
HBCUADD ALL-STARS
HBCUADD All-Stars are nominated by their respective coaches. HBCU Next All-Stars as the same with high school all-stars-- get a more intimate experience as well as more in-depth training and mentoring focused on desired career paths and ambitions. Selected students will perform with the HBCUADD All-Stars at our Conference Showcase Performance!
