Here are some of the most common questions we have in regards to conference registration, and membership! If your question is not listed, please don't hesitate to reach out.

What is the difference between registration and membership?
Membership in HBCUADD covers dues to attend the conference. There is no separate fee for membership and registration. First Look Cohort has its own cost which includes membership. All All-Stars (High School and Collegiate) fees are waived; so you do NOT need to calculate them in your needed memberships. General students (high school & college) who are not all stars must purchase a student membership for $50.

What if I need to pay via check or other method of payment?
If a payment method other than PayPal is needed, OR an invoice is needed prior to purchasing memberships, email smzachery@hbcuadd.com to request other payment option instructions or an invoice.

Can my student who wants to participate in the First Look Cohort membership be included with my institutional membership?
Students who wish to register for the Cohort must not be included in the institutional membership or the individual memberships. There is an inclusive price for the Cohort which will include their membership.

Are my students and I covered under our institutional membership with our band?
Institutional Memberships cover the conference fee for 1 Director/Coach and 8 students. Schools may purchase 1 Institutional Membership that covers BOTH band AND auxiliary/dance students OR Institutional Memberships can be purchased for each organization (Band OR Auxiliary). Please check with your band director to determine if an Institutional Membership has been purchased for the school, and how many band students are attending to determine how many (if any) additional memberships you need to purchase.
